Mr Major’s Comments on Bosnia – 8 August 1992

Below is the text of Mr Major’s comments on Bosnia, made on 8th August 1992.

[The Prime Minister was asked about his telephone call to President Bush].

PRIME MINISTER:

I did have the opportunity of discussing a whole range of matters with President Bush. We have been looking at a series of options for some days. We’ve been looking at them with the Americans, with the French and with some of our other allies. That work collectively – collectively I stress that word – that work is still going on, when we’ve concluded it, we can reach decisions about what needs to be done.
