PRIME MINISTER:
I talk from time to time to veterans of the Far East campaigns, and when I do, I recognise that there is often a concern. A concern that perhaps the remarkable contributions they made are sometimes overlooked, perhaps forgotten. The forgotten fourteenth army or the forgotten Pacific fleet. By May 1945, the war in Europe was over, but for a further three months there were many thousands of British, Commonwealth and allied forces that fought on.
