Hill Livestock Compensatory Allowance

Mr. Alex Carlile : To ask the Prime Minister what is the average hill livestock compensatory allowance payment to eligible farmers in Wales and the comparable figures for England; and if he will make a statement.

The Prime Minister : The average payment during the 1991-92 financial year was £2,570 in Wales and £2,781 in England.
