The text of Sir John Major’s comments made at Wormsley Cricket Ground on Sunday 10 July 2011.
QUESTION:
[Sir John was asked about the wonderful Day at Wormsley and whether he was pleased to be here]
SIR JOHN MAJOR:
Wormsley is an absolutely magical place, and today of course, with the England Ladies playing the House of Commons to raise money for very good causes. It’s just a wonderful afternoon. I know no lovelier ground than this. I can’t think of anywhere one would rather be on a summer’s afternoon than here. It’s absolutely glorious.
QUESTION:
[Sir John was asked about England Women’s Cricket]
SIR JOHN MAJOR:
The England Ladies are the best ladies team in the world, they’ve won everything that’s going at the moment. So they’re in absolutely superb form and I think we have every reason to be proud of them.
QUESTION:
[Sir John was asked how many cricket matches he had attended]
SIR JOHN MAJOR:
I have absolutely no idea, but the only answer that I can give to that is, not enough. Many more to come I hope.
QUESTION:
[Sir John was asked if he felt the women’s cricket team was doing well]
SIR JOHN MAJOR:
They’re certainly doing so at the moment. Thank you very much.
