Mr. Allen To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if the Government have yet examined the proposals of the Public Accounts Committee on financial reports to Parliament; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Major The Government’s proposals on financial reporting to Parliament, in response to the eighth report of 1986-87 of the Committee of Public Accounts (HC 98), and to the second report of 1987-88 of the Treasury and Civil Service Committee (HC 22), were sent to the respective Committees on 29 April and were published on Friday 6 May – Cm. 375.
