PRIME MINISTER:
East Timor
Mrs. Clwyd : To ask the Prime Minister if he will support a United Nations Commission to East Timor to investigate the killings in Santa Cruz on 12 November 1991.
The Prime Minister : We support the UN Secretary-General’s proposal to send a representative to examine the situation in East Timor.
Severely Disabled People (Personal Assistants)
Mr. Alfred Morris : To ask the Prime Minister if he is satisfied with the co-ordination between the Secretaries of State for Health and for Social Security concerning policy towards direct payments to severely disabled people to employ their own personal assistants; and if he will make a statement.
The Prime Minister : Yes.
Armed Forces (Liability to Injury) Bill
Mr. John Browne : To ask the Prime Minister what is his policy with regard to the Armed Forces (Liability to Injury) Bill.
The Prime Minister : As the Armed Forces (Liability to Injury) Bill will not receive its Second Reading until Friday 24 January 1992, it would not be appropriate for me to make a statement.
British Steel
Mr. Dewar : To ask the Prime Minister what meetings he has had with British Steel in the last six months; and on what dates.
The Prime Minister : None, but my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry has had four meetings with British Steel during the last six months.
