Mr Major’s Comments on the British Beef Ban – 15 May 1996

PRIME MINISTER:
I think it’s extremely important that we get the gelatine, tallow and semen ban lifted, I hope that will happen today.
……
The commission have now decided to propose that the ban is lifted, so on that basis, I see no proper justification for our colleagues in Europe not agreeing with that.
