Mr. Greg Knight To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a further statement on the outlook for manufacturing investment in 1988.

Mr. Fallon To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a further statement on the outlook for manufacturing investment in 1988.

Mr. Major The Budget forecast projected growth of 11.5 per cent. in manufacturing investment 1988. The April CBI industrial trends survey also points to strong investment growth, with the balance of firms expecting to increase investment in plant and machinery over the next 12 months at the highest level for 15 years.
