Mr. Gordon Brown To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give the assumption on the rise in house prices in 1988–89, 1989–90 and 1990–91 built into the figures given for receipts from sales of housing in table 3.6 Cm. 288–1.

Mr. Major It is not Government practice to publish assumptions which may be market sensitive.
