Mr. Hanky To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give the latest figures for the growth of economic output in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Major Provisional CSO estimates suggest that the output-based measure of GDP increased by 5 per cent. between the first quarter of 1987 and the first quarter of 1988.
