Mr. John Browne To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the increase in the output measure of gross domestic product in the year to the fourth quarter of 1988.

Sir Michael McNair-Wilson To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the increase in the output measure of gross domestic product in the year to the fourth quarter of 1988.

Mr. Major The output measure of gross domestic product is estimated to have increased by 3 per cent. between the fourth quarter of 1987 and the fourth quarter of 1988.
