Below is the text of the written answers relating to Prime Minister’s Question Time from 5th November 1996.
PRIME MINISTER:
Union Flag and Royal Standard
Mr. Wigley: To ask the Prime Minister what plans he has for Wales to be represented on (a) the Union flag and (b) the royal standard.
The Prime Minister: The Union flag is representative of all parts of the United Kingdom. Wales, as an integral part of the United Kingdom, is therefore represented by the Union flag. Similarly, the royal standard representing the sovereign of the United Kingdom applies to Wales as much as to every other part of the Union.
