Mr. Bill Walker Asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will give details of the number of pensioners who are in receipt of a heating allowance.

Mr. Major It is estimated that nearly 1.5 million pensioners were in receipt of a heating addition in 1984, the latest year for which information is available.
