Below is the text of the Written Parliamentary Answer on the Disabled Persons Act 1986 from 27 April 1987.
Mr. Wigley asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether the Government have now established a target date for the full implementation, with commencement orders, of every section of the Disabled Persons (Services, Consultation and Representation) Act 1986; and if he will make a statement.
Mr. Major Sections 4, 8(1), and 9 and 10 were implemented on 1 April 1987. With regard to the implementation of the remaining sections, I cannot add to my reply to the hon. Member on 10 March at column 157.
