Mr Major’s Doorstep Interview in London – 19 October 1992
Below is the text of Mr Major’s doorstep interview at Downing Street, London, before a Cabinet meeting on Monday 19th October 1992.
PRIME MINISTER:
I called a meeting last night of senior colleagues and interested ministers. We discussed the question of the coal problems for two to two and a half hours. The purpose of this morning’s Cabinet meeting is to consider the conclusions we reached on that occasion and after the Cabinet meeting Mr Heseltine will announce the outcome of that in the House this afternoon.
