Below is the text of Mr Major’s comments made at the start of the Conservative Party Conference, on 9th October 1995.


PRIME MINISTER:

Last week we heard a lot of crass platitudes, this week I think we’re going to be dealing with hard policy, policy that is going to effect for the better millions of people in this country, that’s what this week is all about.
