Mr Major’s Written Parliamentary Answer on Mobility Allowance – 11 February 1987
Below is the text of Mr Major’s written Parliamentary Answer on Mobility Allowance on 11th February 1987.
Mr. Carter-Jones Asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will amend the mobility allowance regulations to ensure that no elderly disabled people who are currently in receipt of the allowance are deprived of it when they reach the age of 75 years; and if he will make a statement.
Mr. Major The limit of age 75 for the payment of the allowance will not affect any recipients before November 1989 and we shall consider whether the legislation should be amended rather nearer that time.
