Mr Major’s Written Parliamentary Answer on the Mobility Allowance – 2 March 1987
Below is the text of Mr Major’s written Parliamentary Answer on the Mobility Allowance on 2nd March 1987.
Mr. Nicholls Asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what recent representations he has received about the qualifications for receipt of mobility allowance; and if he will make a statement.

Recently, a large proportion has been in support of extending the medical eligibility criteria to include disabled people who can walk but who are not independently mobile. Many of these representations have referred to deaf-blind people in particular.
