Below is the text of Mr Major’s written Parliamentary Answer on Fraud Staff on 11th June 1986.
Mr. Craigen Asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will examine the problem which has arisen in the case of social security claimants who are incurring a bank service charge arising from the cashing of their Giro payment, details of which have been supplied to him by the hon. Member for Glasgow, Maryhill.
Mr. Major I have received the hon. Member’s letter and inquiries are being made. I shall reply to the hon. Member’s letter as soon as possible.
