Mrs. Beckett Asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is his latest assessment of the net effect on the 1987-88 social security budget of the changes made in the social security review.
Mr. Major The net effect on public expenditure on social security of the reform measures which will have been introduced by the end of 1987-88 is estimated to be a reduction in that year of about £220 million.
