Mr. Redmond To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what percentage of the gross national product has been received by the Exchequer in each year since 1979; from which sources it came; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Major The information on receipts by the Government can be found in “Financial Statistics” tables 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3. Figures for GDP are shown in Economic Trends, table 2.
