Below is the text of Mr Major’s written Parliamentary Answer on Pensioners on 28th April 1987.

Mr. Deakins Asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will estimate the cost of giving single pensioners with no other sources of income an extra £5 per week and pensioner couples £8 per week assuming no change in social security benefits.
