Mr. McLeish To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his latest estimate for the public sector borrowing requirement for 1987–88.

Ms. Armstrong To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his latest estimate for the public sector borrowing requirement for 1987–88.

Mr. Major The Autumn Statement forecast was for a PSBR in 1987–88 of £1 billion. A revised estimate will be published next month in the “Financial Statement and Budget Report”.
