Banking Supervision

Mr. Vaz : To ask the Prime Minister what discussions he has had concerning the content of the second report of the Treasury and Civil Service Select Committee, Session 1992-93, “Banking Supervision and BCCI : The Implications of the Bingham report.”

The Prime Minister : I meet my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer regularly to discuss matters of common interest.

 

Water and Sewerage Services, Scotland

Mr. Welsh : To ask the Prime Minister when he expects a decision to be taken on the future of water and sewerage services in Scotland; and if he will make a statement.

The Prime Minister : My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland has received nearly 5,000 responses to his consultation paper on the future of water and sewerage services in Scotland. He will make a decision when all responses have been considered.

Mr. Welsh : To ask the Prime Minister which Department is responsible for deciding on the future of water and sewerage services in Scotland; and if he will make a statement.

The Prime Minister : My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland is responsible for deciding on the future of water and sewerage services in Scotland.
